Why is almost everything free?

Because it doesn't cost us anything. The AI runs on your phone, so there's no server bill behind your writing. Storing a copy of your journal is the one thing that does cost money every month, so that's the one thing we charge for.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing changes on your phone — your journal is already there and stays complete. New entries stop uploading, and we keep the copy already in the cloud for 30 days so you can restore it, then delete it. You can also erase it yourself at any time from the Backup screen.

Can you read my journal?

No. It is encrypted on your phone before it is uploaded, and we never receive the key. That also means we cannot recover it for you if you lose your vault password — the same property that keeps us out keeps everyone out.

Is there a free trial?

There's no trial, because there's nothing to try — the app is complete and free without a subscription. The first month is discounted so backing up costs almost nothing to start.
