Miday is a journal with an AI companion that never leaves your device. No account to make, no connection to keep, no server that could read along even if someone asked it to.
What it guarantees
Three rules, and the app is built to enforce them
Not values on a page. Each of these is a property of how Miday is put together, which is why we can state it flatly instead of hedging.
Not "processed securely in the cloud" — actually on the device. Chat, transcription and photo understanding all run locally. Your writing is never sent anywhere to be read, by a machine or by anyone.
Writing, reading, searching, unlocking and exporting all work offline, forever, with no sign-in. There is no gate to get past — the first screen you see is the one you write on.
Zero-knowledge and end-to-end encrypted. If you turn on backup, what we store is ciphertext we have no key for. That is the architecture, not a policy we could quietly change later.

Type it, say it, photograph it, or talk it out. All four end up in the same encrypted journal, and all four are processed without leaving the phone.
Plain text in a serif that gets out of the way. Autosaved as you go.
Record and get a transcript, produced on the phone. The audio never leaves it.

First launch
It asks for two things and then gets out of the way
No email, no password to invent, no five-screen tour. A step that takes no input is not a step, it is a toll — so there are only the two that genuinely need you.
Around 1.3 GB, once, over Wi-Fi. This is the thing that makes everything after it work with no connection at all.
Miday runs the model once on your actual phone. If it cannot, you find out now rather than three entries in.
Everything else happens without asking. Your vault, the credential that unlocks it, and its recovery phrase are all created for you — they exist from the first launch, and Miday tells you where the recovery phrase lives when you are somewhere you can write it down.
The other half of it
What Miday cannot do for you
The guarantees above cost something, and you should know what before you install anything. Nothing here is fixable without giving up the part that makes Miday worth using.
Which also means we cannot recover it. Lose your vault password and your recovery phrase, and the entries are gone — the property that keeps us out keeps everyone out.
At least 4 GB of memory, and iOS or Android — not a browser. If yours cannot run the model, Miday says so on first launch instead of degrading into something that half works.
Use Wi-Fi for it. After that Miday never needs a connection again, which is the whole point of paying that cost once.

There is no server behind your writing, so there is no bill behind it either. Keeping an encrypted copy of your journal is the one thing that costs something every month, and it is the one thing we charge for.
